Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale plays professional basketball in the Dallas Wings, a team in the Women's National Basketball Association. She was a college basketball player with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Wings drafted her with the fifth selection of the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale, born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997, was the daughter of Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years) and Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her older brothers. She was the youngest child in her family and her parents spoiled her the best. Gregory was the Nigerian Army officer for a long time. Ogunbowale comes from an active lineage of family members. The brother Dare is a professional footballer and her mom Yolanda used to play softball at DePaul. Aunt Endia Oliver, played volleyball at Tennessee State and her niece played volleyball with UAPB. Ogunbowale was on the school honour roll for three years in a row. In addition, she has won numerous awards and received fame and recognition for her school days. Arike did her graduation from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School situated within her own hometown. She played three varsity season as she studied at the school. Ogunbowale, owing to her remarkable capabilities and skills, helped lead her school to stunning victory several times. With 73 high school starts during her professional career, Ogunbowale has 1,477 points with 739 rebound. Ogunbowale participated in the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship where she won gold medals. The 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team was announced on 7th July 2014. Ogunbowale was playing her first season at a collegiate level, was named her ACC All-Freshman Team. Kobe Bryant himself congratulated Ogunbowale for her NCCA Tournament big shot. Although still a newbie, Ogunbowale has made herself a top basketball player, and she is bound to keep her track.
