April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th on the 4th of July, 1995. At the age of seven she started taking piano and guitar lessons. It was this that ignited her love for music writing. April's very first song was titled Different, which she wrote at the age of 12. At the age of 14, April spent lots of time writing her lyrics, and perfecting her singing abilities. Later on, she started taking notes together with her dad and her father to LA in addition to NY. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in Take My Hand for her friends who were dealing with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicide. Lockhart is a fashion and lifestyle blogger that has an ever-growing following. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia together, and is also a lifestyle expert. Her birth was without a left hand, and it's part of who she is--but it's far from the entirety of her story. As a result Lockhart's Instagram profile does not shy away from her disability, but she doesn't focus on it in any way. What message is it trying to convey? The message is that our identities are complex and that we're much greater than the physical person we are. We don't want to allow that to define me I don't want to become a disability advocate where that's all I talk about because there are so numerous other aspects of me Lockhart says via video from her house in Nashville. The issue doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about my business as usual and have come up with my own methods to adjust. It's a huge part of my life, therefore it's important for us to speak about it. Lockhart who is an inspiration for self-acceptance in general she is currently on a long process to attain it. She admits that she's been through phases of her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear certain types of clothing which showed off her arms. She now wears anything she likes and uploads pictures of herself in these outfits on social media, she is proud of herself. It's all a process is the main thing I'm not certain until you've arrived she says of self-love. This applies to everyone regardless of level of insecurity. The idea of having people around you who really know you and see the depths of your soul is vital because they'll also be the people who will remind you what you worried about?
